Sunday began back out on the beach. The water was perfect for boogie boarding and even calmer than it had been the two days prior. Harper and Colin were having a lot of fun racing and seeing who could ride the wave the longest.
Tony used some of his artistic talent to make a sand fish.
Dakota enjoyed playing with Evelyn most of the time but she too did a bunch of boogie boarding and even jumped the waves with Jeff and Wyatt.
After spending the morning on the beach the Wakefield's went back to their room for nap time while we headed over to the pool. We had lunch there and when Dakota bit into LaTisha's quesadilla she got a little extra surprise when her tooth fell out! She's been waiting for this day since Harper lost his first tooth! (She put it under her pillow that night and got $2!)
We played in the pool for awhile after eating but around 2:30 my sister and Jaron decided it was time to get their things together and head home. Dakota was extremely sad they were leaving but we were able to soothe her with a reminder that we'd see them again at Thanksgiving. We gave lots of hugs and kisses and I was just so thankful they'd made the trip out to be with us, even if it was short lived.
While Tony made dinner I got the kids showered and the room picked up and then Harper invited Colin up to our room to play a round of Minecraft Card Game with Harper. When I texted his mom I just said does Colin want to come play a game with Harper and it wasn't until he stepped off the elevator that I realized he probably thought I meant a video game, not a card game! I felt bad because I know he loves video games as much as Harper, but he took it in stride and happily played the cards with Harper. Next time I'll be more specific!
The Wakefield's brought their dinner up to our room and we all ate together which made Dakota happy again. She'd been asking them to come see our room and for them to eat their dinner with us just made it that much greater! As we cleaned up our dinner mess the boys jumped off the couches and from bed to bed while Dakota read Evelyn a book.
Once things were cleaned up we all took a short walk around the corner to Scooby's Ice Cream Bar and Grill for dessert.
As we were walking Lisa was holding one of Evelyn's hands and Dakota had the other. Dakota was chatting with Evelyn the whole way and while I can't remember what she was telling her, I do know that it made Lisa and I giggle because Dakota is so motherly. Dakota truly adores her and I think Evelyn likes her quite a bit as well. (Colin was attempting to hide from my camera in the second photo and it makes me laugh because he doesn't know that I'll JUST KEEP TRYING!!)
On the way back to our room we walked along the shoreline looking for seashells. Harper got a really good one! I wonder how it was ever looked over?! And, Tony picked up a nice handful as well.
This little guy avoids the camera at all costs too, but since he isn't with Harper or Dakota in most of the photo's I wanted to make sure I got him in here somewhere. It's tough being the middle child and being the odd man out. :( I love that his shirt's on backwards too! Such a little kid thing to put it on backwards and refuse to correct it!
