How We Spent Our Last Day of Summer Vacation

What better way to spend the last day of summer vacation than at the pool? It's the last day the pool is open around here too so it's kind of a must. Zoe, Brandon and the Wakefield's all came over to enjoy one last hop in the pool for this year and we had a ton of fun!

You can see everyone but me (because I'm taking the photo) in the photo below. Harper, Evelyn, Wyatt and Colin are standing outside the pool and you can see everyone else though Dakota is kind of blending in with Lisa right in front of Evelyn. There was lots of dunking and splashing and laughing and joking. Pool noodle fights broke our every few minutes and we all caused nothing but mayhem for about 2 hours before a huge crack of thunder sent us on our way.

When we got back to the house Tony made us a round of tropical martini's which Lisa and I enjoyed a little too much. We had a few different appetizers and then a huge meal of steak, cornbread, baked beans and a cucumber salad. To top off our extremely full bellies we ate Strawberry Refrigerator Cake; a recipe from The Cake Mix Doctor Returns book. 

It was a nice way to bid summer farewell but I sure wish we could rewind the whole thing and experience it one more time.
