Daisy Scout Tree Lighting/Caroling

Dakota's girl scout troop had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols at a local tree lighting event this past weekend. (She was a little nervous, can you tell by her picture above?) It was her troop and an older Brownie troop and it's a good thing those older girls were there because our little Daisy's didn't know most of the words to the songs! It was kind of a last minute decision to have our little one's participate so they weren't afforded much time to practice, but they sure were cute standing up there mumbling along!

Before the caroling began the crowd was greeted by Santa Claus who came in on a firetruck.

There was a choir from a nearby Catholic school who sang a few songs and then our girls were up. We had six songs to sing: Jingle Bells, Silent Night, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Between the fifth and sixth song there was a countdown and the tree lights came on.

For participating in the caroling event each girl was given a patch to attach to their vest. This is the second patch she's earned already! Can't wait to see what else these little one's will get to do!
