Final Soccer Game and a Birthday Lunch

The day after the wedding was a bummer because my family packed up and headed home. My mom and sister left first because they were driving back home. They were out of here by 8:30 am or so. I drove my dad, brother and nephew to the airport at 10:30 am as they had a noon take off. I hated seeing them all go but knowing we'll be seeing them in a few short weeks makes it better.

Both kids had their final soccer games at noon on Saturday. (Man am I glad that's done for awhile!) It was pretty cold out but we all stood out there cheering them on and they both did great. Dakota scored two or three goals to end her season and she's already asked about playing again next season. I'm happy she enjoys it but I think she's going to have to really decide what she wants to keep doing between soccer, girl scouts and dance...it's all a bit much. Harper doesn't want to play again and it's absolutely fine with me. He may enjoy an individual sport more and we will be looking into those options for him soon.

Even baby Isaac was out there cheering on his aunt and uncle!

When Dakota's game finished the coach handed out trophies right there on the field. They had a little pizza party after their final Wednesday practice, but Dakota didn't make that practice because she was at girl scouts. (See what I mean about it all being a little too much!) She was very proud to have earned her very first trophy!

Once the games wrapped up we asked Jeff where he'd like to go to for lunch since it was his birthday. He turned the big 28 just days after Kiersten celebrated her 27th. Jeff said Italian sounded good so we went to Mama Roma's, a little Italian place just up the road and one we hadn't ever tried before. The food ended up being really good and I can definitely see us eating there again in the future.

I was busy walking Isaac around while we were waiting for our food and Dakota asked if she could take a picture of us together...
