Monday with Dakota (Kindergarten Conference Day Off)

Last Monday and Tuesday the Kindergarten classes were off for parent teacher conferences. Dakota's conference was scheduled for Tuesday so Monday she had a friend over for a play date.

They had so much fun and seem to enjoy the same kinds of things. They played Calico Critters, baby dolls, drew pictures and ran around outside (in between rainstorms).

When her friend left we had a couple hours before everyone else got home so we played some games, made brownies and worked on an old Lego kit. She loves Candy Land right now so we played a few rounds of that and then we played a couple rounds of Jenga.

That night she practiced reading some of her BOB books and I have to say, she's really getting good at reading. It's always amazing to me when the kids go from completely unable to read to solid reading and being able to sound out words.
