Campo Del Bosque, Final Day

It's Friday and I've been so busy preparing for Dakota's birthday party this coming weekend that I haven't made any time to blog. Unbelievably the kids are finished with camp and they both had an amazing time and couldn't wait to tell me all about it each day when I picked them up. They got to go canoeing, seining, crabbing, and hiking. They also got to swim at the pool each day as well as learn new games. They did all that and so much more all while learning Spanish at the same time. They came home with lots of new Spanish vocabulary and Dakota walked around singing the songs they learned each night at home.

Today, since it was the final day of camp, we were invited to come to a little program that the kids put on to show us what they'd learned this week. Each group was given a topic and then the kids told us a bit about it in English and Spanish.

The rising first graders told us all about the oruga (caterpillar). Dakota's sign read "En viernes la oruga come naranja's. (On Friday the caterpillar ate oranges.)

The rising third graders told us the name of a food and whether is was compost or garbage. Harper told us that Las Uvas (grapes) were compostera (compost).

After each age group gave their presentation the show was over and it was time to gather up all of their things and head home. I found all kinds of stuff in their bags...

Next week we begin swim lessons and that will last two weeks. It seems like I signed them up to do this stuff ages ago but it also feels like it can't really almost be July! Time is just flying by...
