Today Zoe and I went to Dakota's authors tea. When Dakota was told that she was only allowed two adults at her book reading, she immediately thought of asking Zoe. She just loves that big sister of hers! Zoe was thrilled to be asked and took the morning off of work to attend; she loves that little sister of hers right back.
Zoe drove up a little early and we got to hang out for a bit before heading over to the school. We got ourselves checked in and then found a spot in the field to wait for Dakota.
The kindergarten kids wrote books about their kindergarten experience. Dakota's book ended up being pretty short, only four pages, but the work she completed was very neatly done. Zoe and I both noticed how nice her handwriting was and we also both loved her colorful cover.
I just love how after she reads the first page she looks over at Zoe and smiles. That smile is one that says "I am proud of this book"! It was a really nice break in the middle of the day and I loved spending that bit of time with my two girls, a rarity for sure.
