Happy 42nd!

Last Sunday we celebrated my 42nd birthday. I woke up to lots of hugs and birthday cards handmade by the two little kids. I have to say, I REALLY, REALLY love those special handmade cards. They put a lot of work into them and even included games we could play together.

We hadn't made it to downtown Annapolis once this season for First Sunday so I thought that'd be a nice way to spend the afternoon. Before we could go though, Tony and Harper had to work their first boy scout popcorn booth for a few hours. It worked out fine because the craft tents don't open until noon so they worked 10-12 and then we headed down for lunch and browsing.

Mema, Zoe and Brandon met us down there and we all sat outside and had lunch at Luna Blu, a place none of us had ever tried before. (Landon opted to stay home and sleep on his day off.) The food was really good and once we'd finished eating we walked up and down the streets checking out the different vendors. There seem to be a lot of jewelry and soap vendors and Harper really enjoyed looking at the different jewelry and asking all kinds of questions about the stones and materials used in making them. It was fun to listen to him chat with the vendors and I believe they enjoyed imparting their wisdom with him.

We didn't end up buying anything but it was nice to be outside looking at all the beautiful art. On the way home we stopped at the farm to get our pumpkins for this year. I think it'll be the last season of pumpkins from there as they sold their farm and sometime in the future it will be the site of a new (much needed) high school. I am sad to see the farm go though.

I was very surprised when we got home and I saw that Landon had gone out to get me a few little things for my birthday! Roses, chocolates and a Michaels gift card...the boy knows me well!

Tony made a delicious meal in honor of my day and then Landon surprised me with a cake he bought as well! He chose this one because it had four different kinds of cake and thought we could do like when we have a "try it night" and sample each type. I thought it was a fun idea and we cut small slices from each section and sampled them and then chose which piece we wanted a whole slice of for dessert.

Everyone made my day very special and I felt very loved. I am an incredibly lucky momma!
