My family loves Halloween. We look forward to it all month and my kids are always very eager to choose what they're going to dress up as. Harper knew that he wanted to be Harry Potter a long time ago. I read him the first book and when we were finished he decided that'd be a cool costume. I wish I could get Dakota to dress up as Hermione but she doesn't know the first thing about the books. She's decided to be a witch though, so close enough. (I was really surprised that she wanted to be a witch instead of a princess!) We went ahead and bought the kids' costumes a few weeks ago and thankfully they're still happy with their choices. I warned them before we left the store that once the costume was purchased the decision was final. I think they heard me. I know Dakota's still happy with her choice because I found this drawing in her backpack:
Our Halloween is going to be a little different this year because my mom and sister will be here. They are coming up early to help make sure things are settled for the wedding so they'll get to do some trick-or-treating with us. I'm sure the kids are going to just love that!
