Halloween 2017

Another Halloween had come and gone. My kids have been anticipating Halloween since last year and I kept telling them it'd be here and over before they knew it and bam; it's done. We had a nice Halloween albeit busy with everything else going on around here. There were the five of us, my mom and sister, Zoe & Brandon as well as Chris, Lori and Lea. Quite a houseful. I made slow cooker chili mac and corn bread for dinner and Lori brought some pizza to share. We ate dinner around 5:15 and then headed out to walk around the neighborhood. (It wasn't as cold as years past but we were wearing coats and gloves, so it was chilly!)

Harper decided to go as Harry Potter this year. We read the first book and as soon as we'd finished he decided that was who he wanted to dress as. It's a really simple costume and one he could wear layers underneath without effecting the finished look. I LOVE how he looks with those little round glasses!

Dakota settled on going as a witch this year. I don't know what inspired her, but she was the cutest little witch out there last night! Her dad did a great job on her makeup and she LOVES having her face painted so it was a total win.

Lea dressed as a snow queen. Her costume was really pretty and it looked really warm!

While we were waiting for it to get dark the kids ran around the yard and we took some other pictures when we could grab them.

Despite the cold my kids ended up trick-or-treating around the entire neighborhood (Lea decided she wasn't into it and ended up leaving after about 45 minutes or so). We started around 6 pm and didn't get back until after 7:30. They had such a great time!

We didn't have time to carve our pumpkins until the night before Halloween, but they did get done! I found these color changing candles at Michaels to use in our jack-o-lanterns this year and they looked really cool! Dakota is the one that is blue, my sister did the yellow and the red is Harper's design.

I didn't get my own pictures of Landon this year but Zoe sent me the one's she got. (When we got back it was too dark for me to get my own.) Landon's mask was called "Happy Baby Mask" but it was super creepy! He just loved freaking everyone out with it!
