Muse Paintbar

Last Saturday night Tony and I went out to Muse Paintbar in Annapolis. He booked us seats and arranged for his mom to sit with the kids while we went and it was a surprise night out for me which was nice. I was really anxious though, no knowing what we were going to do, and bugged him enough that he ended up telling me early in the day what we were going to do. I like surprises but for some reason this made me extremely anxious and I felt like I really needed to know what we were heading out to do!

Doors opened at 6:30 pm and painting started at 7:30 pm. We got down to Annapolis a little early so we walked around some of the shops for a bit until it was time to head over to Muse. I was a little hesitant about painting at all but when I saw the actual painting we were doing I was ready to head home! Those trees looked terribly difficult!

Here's a little bit of a photo progression of my canvas:

The next part was the fun part, splatter painting stars:

At this point we took a break. Up next was the TREES...

The first tree we did was that little fat one on the left. Mine was horrible! But, my next tree wasn't as bad and I started feeling a wee bit more confident.

But then, we changed to a deep green color for the next two trees and I was scared again. Those two didn't turn out horribly, but I knew my huge tree was next and I was really sweating that one.

I ended up doing okay with that gigantic tree and even felt okay with the snow I added on the four smaller ones. My arm was getting seriously tired at this point though and I was ready to be done.

I might have rushed through that last big tree a bit and I think it shows but all in all I'm happy with it. We were told to add trunks at the bottom of the two closest trees and I debated a long time about it because I felt like it wasn't needed but then went ahead and did it...and I regret it. I don't think they were necessary at all and the painting was better without. Next time I'll go with my gut.

While I was hard at work on my painting Tony was hard at work on his.

For beginners, they both turned out pretty good. It was really fun and I'd definitely like to do it again sometime. Here's our finished work:
