Dakota's teacher was ready as soon as we got there but really didn't have much to tell me. She said she was very helpful and friendly with everyone and that she could work on her writing skills, namely adding details to her stories. She's reading at an "F" level which is considered first grade level and she was extremely proud of herself when I told her! So, in a nutshell, my baby is ready for first grade. It's hard to believe, but here we are.
After the conference we got Harper out of class for the rest of the day and then went to lunch at Chick-fil-A. Harper has barely missed any school this entire year so I thought he might like a little time off for good behavior; I was right. :)
When we got home the kids played Minecraft for a little bit and then while Harper read his book, Dakota worked on the charms she's going to exchange at her last girl scout meeting. They were given a sheet of paper with the trefoil printed on it several times. They were to trace the trefoil onto shrinky dink paper, color them, add their name, cut them out, punch a hole at the top and then bake them.
Dakota really enjoyed this little project and these bracelets are going to be adorable when they're all exchanged!
