We were up and down for breakfast just before nine that morning. I don't usually eat breakfast but sitting and watching everyone around me eat made me hungry. I ended up eating eggs over easy on toast with a cup of hot cocoa every single morning after this one! It was just the right amount to keep me full until lunch. The breakfast possibilities were seemingly endless and I found it quite interesting the choices people made. Not really in my family, but people of other ethnicities filling their plates with fish, rice and vegetables or big bowls of soup, which we wouldn't consider breakfast items.
After breakfast we found a spot to sit at the pool and stayed there until lunch time. The kids had soooo much fun that day! Harper took up residency on one of the water cannons while Dakota made a friend named Riley. Tony and I hit the poolside bar to try the drink of the day, the Caribbean Sling. It was a little too delicious and we may or may not have had a few. :)
There were a few ice cream machines set up in the pool areas and Dakota helped herself to one after the other after the other.
We went to the Windjammer for lunch and then the kids got dressed and went to kids club for awhile. I thought they might enjoy hanging out with some people their age for awhile doing all kinds of fun activities, and they did.
While they were away we walked around, took pictures with characters, drank some drinks (Tony and I tried our first jello shots!) and had a good time. Tony, Jaron, Landon and Brandon decided to play a game of dodgeball and that was fun to watch!
Kids club lasted from 2-5 pm so we picked up the kids at 5 and then headed to dinner. They both said that they'd had fun at kids club but that they didn't do half the activities that I had told them they'd be doing. I guess they do some of the activities listed and not necessarily everything. Oh well.
I thought this was a cute background so Tony and I grabbed a quick photo together on our way to dinner.
Tuesdays menu was another winner! I saw someone else's french onion soup the night before and HAD to have it the very next night. It was simply amazing. Maybe even as good as Tony's. I had the Garlic Tiger Shrimp (delicious) for my main course and the Warm Donuts (meh) for dessert.
Oh my god...the cheese!!!
I love that flamingo shirt!
That night there was a little dancing and cheering on the wait staff. They came around with a conga line and Dakota and I were the only ones at our table to jump in. Then, Dakota did a little bit of the "floss" with some little boy...
While walking around the promenade after dinner we noticed a bunch of girls walking around in MASSIVE dresses. We came to the conclusion that they were celebrating their quincenera but Dakota thought they must be princesses and asked to get her picture with them. The two we asked were happy to oblige and it just made Dakota's day!
We made our way to the Schooner Bar where Tony and I grabbed a drink and the kids had a Shirley Temple, something they ended up ordering time and again once they decided they liked it. Going to the Schooner Bar after dinner became what we did each evening and after the second time Harper ran ahead of us, hopped up on a bar stool and asked the bar tender for two Shirley Temples, one for him and one for his sister! It was kind of funny because he looked like he'd been hopping up to bars his whole life!
The kids weren't very happy about me making them go to kids club earlier in the day so I had promised them a trip to the arcade if they both went. It was enough of a bribe to get them to go and I made sure to fulfill my promise. Unfortunately, the arcades aren't that great in that it is really hard to get the games to read the sea passes which is how you're charged for the games. We let them play the games we could get to work but it didn't end up being much of a reward for their compliance. They weren't unhappy though so it all worked out in the end.
These rooms overlook the boardwalk on the inside of the ship. I thought they were pretty cool!
After watching the sunset and walking around a bit more we went back to our room for the night. We were exhausted from running around the ship all day and had an early excursion time for the morning.
