I've had to get used to having a dog in the house again and we had a few missteps when he first arrived. I didn't realize he'd always be right at my feet and I stepped on his tail once when I didn't know he was there. Oops! He sleeps on his owners bed and that's just not something I'm willing to do so he had to adjust to sleeping on the floor in our room. The first two nights he woke up around 12/1 am whining and barking because he wanted on the bed but after I put him back in his little bed he slept the rest of the night. By night 3 he didn't whine or bark at all and knew to get in his bed when we did.
He is almost always right by my side, sitting wherever I am or at my feet if he can't be right next to me. He's terribly cute and the fact that he lightly sheds seems unimportant; I mean, look at those puppy eyes! He must be my friends dog because he certainly wants to be with me. I thought it was pretty funny when I went to rest on the couch and he climbed right up on top of me!
The kids have had so much fun playing with him. They enjoyed throwing his bone for him to chase (over and over and over again) as well as snuggling up to him and giving him his food and water.
We have another 4 days with him here and I'm sure it'll be no problem. I may even miss him a little when he goes, but I also know that I'm definitely not ready for another full time pet.
