Walmart Grocery Order

For the most part Landon's room did get finished last weekend. Tony ended up painting the rest of it on Sunday while I did a million other things and watched the kids. I really like the color I picked for that room and am considering using it for another room since I have so much paint left over. Landon still needs his ceiling painted but other than that, it's done. 

One of the tasks that needed doing was making a grocery list and grocery shopping. We were going to Mema's for dinner that night so I didn't need anything immediately but needed lots for the week ahead. So, instead of taking the two kids and going to the store I decided to try Walmart's online grocery order again. (I tried it back for Dakota's birthday and liked it for the most part and wanted to do it again.) So, I got on Walmart's grocery site as well as Allrecipes.com and made a menu while entering things into my cart. I chose a pick up time for the next day and boom, done. Before logging off the site I made sure to print out my order so that I could do a quick check while at the store in case anything was forgotten. I stuck it on a clipboard and into my van so I wouldn't forget it!

My pick up time was between 9-10 am the next morning and just a minute or two before 9 I got a text that my order was available for pick up. I sent them a text back that I was on my way and they used that message and GPS to track how long it'd be before I got there. About 10 minutes later I was parked in the designated area and an employee came out to ask me my name and then he went off to grab my order. 

When he came back out with my groceries he informed me that there were a few things out of stock which adjusted the total of my bill. They weren't major things but it was 5 items that were necessary for the week which meant I had to stop somewhere else. I did a quick check to see if I had everything else and it appeared that I did so we headed home.

When I got home and unloaded my bags I did a more thorough check to make sure I had everything while I put it away. My order included ice cream (still frozen when I got it) milk (still cold with a decent expiration date) as well as fruits and veggies (nothing that I wouldn't have picked myself). So, the quality and selections were good; nothing to complain about there. 

There is no charge for this service and it is quite simple from the ordering all the way to pick up. Make sure you check or uncheck the box that lets them substitute brands if they're out according to your preference and be sure you can wait 24 hours for your order since same day isn't available. I like that they give you an hour window to pick up and that they bring it all out to your car and load it for you; great for people with kids in tow. 

I'll definitely use their service again, maybe even this week! It's just so incredibly convenient and absolutely worth a try if it's available in your area.
