Recently, I saw a few cookie recipes that I wanted to try which led me to my cookie board where I found a recipe I pinned ages ago. It's a simple chocolate chip cookie recipe that swaps some of the butter for cream cheese and since it'll be awhile until we get our girl scout cookies, it was time to try them out.
The official title is Softbatch Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies and the original recipe can be found here.
The recipe says to use a 2 in. scoop when dropping the cookies on the cookie sheet but I tried just using two spoons at first...they were not even a little bit pretty. These cookies don't really spread out at all as they bake so whatever shape they go in the oven is how they'll come back out. Use a scoop if you have one, after all, pretty cookies taste better than ugly cookies.
The cookie on the left was scooped, the one on the right, plopped with spoons.
When the kids and Tony came home that night I offered them one of these babies and Tony had the nerve to ask me if I'd eaten one. I mean, who the hell bakes cookies and doesn't eat one while it's still so hot it sizzles in your mouth? Isn't it kind of my duty to make sure they taste good before I decide to share them or hoard them for myself?
Everyone agreed that these were pretty darn good. These aren't for those weird people who say things like "they're sooo rich" or "they're too sweet". These are chock full of chocolate chips and while one of these huge things might be enough to satisfy your sweet tooth, they should never be referred to as "too" anything other than delicious.
