Caricature Night

This past Wednesday night I had "Chick-fil-A night" penciled into my planner because they were having a caricature artist that night. We love any reason to go out to eat and while Chick-fil-A is often a good idea all on it's own, a caricature artist made it even more necessary. Of course, as soon as I heard about it I texted my friend Lisa to see if they'd want to come and they, of course, were in.

We got there about half an hour before they were supposed to start because we figured there might be a long line and our time was limited because it was also family night at our school and we planned on attending that as well.

We ate dinner while we waited for the caricature artist to get set up and as soon as we noticed a small line forming, I jumped up and got in line while everyone else finished eating. We ended up being the third or fourth in line and as we predicted, the line got long. The artist worked quickly and before we knew it, it was our turn. Harper went first since Dakota had disappeared into the play place after she'd finished eating.

She started out with a pencil outline which she then went back over with a black permanent marker. She asked each child's name and added it to the artwork at the bottom. It's too bad Harper didn't smile with his mouth open or she would have drawn him with his missing top teeth. :(

While Harper was having his turn I went into the play area and called Dakota to come get in line. She loved watching Harper's picture being drawn and was excited to have hers done. I didn't really know what to expect from a FREE caricature drawing at Chick-fil-A, but they turned out AWESOME!

Since we went straight from there to the kids' school I didn't have time to get good pictures of them with their art but did manage to remember later in the week.
