Story Time with Harper

One of my favorite things coming home this year are all the stories Harper is writing. The teacher has been giving them some great prompts and he's been doing a great job making up fun stories for them.

Here's one of his latest:

It reads: One Halloween night I heard three huge knocks on my door that I thought would bring down my door. It didn't but anyway I ran to the door (which had dents in it) and opened it to find a Frankenstein standing on the porch. I tried to slam the door but my hand just wouldn't touch the handle. And then I said two words "come in" and he did. That huge, ugly, black, smelly and wet thing was in my house. And it was dinner time which is the worst thing ever because I have to give him food so I asked him what he wanted for dinner and he said "nuts". I asked him what type of nuts and he yelled "steel, duh" and I yelled "I don't have any so you have to try real nuts OK!!! He said fine so we ate peanuts for dinner and he literally had manners and he literally used them. After dinner he asked he if I wanted to play video games and I said "yes I do". So we played Mario Cart and Lego Superhero's and lots of other games like Fortnite and Minecraft. After that he had to go home when he closed the door I said "yes" then I heard two click and...

He never finished. I asked him if he would and he refused. But, for a third grader I thought this was pretty great! His teacher liked it too and he got a 94% only missing a few points for spelling.
