As Tony and I were looking through cookbooks this morning trying to figure out what to buy for dinner this week, I came across a recipe for apple pie. I haven’t ever tried to make one, so I thought I’d give it a shot.
First, I had to make the dough for the crust:
Then add the apple mixture:
Then roll out and cut the rest of the dough to make the lattice top, and add foil around the edge of the crust so it wouldn’t burn:
This is how it looked after about an hour in the oven:
I am pretty proud at how nicely it came out! It felt like it took forever to make, and the dough wasn’t the easiest stuff to work with, but it sure tasted good!
And, before we ate dessert, Tony had made the best beef ka-bobs ever! I’m not usually a big ka-bob fan but these were really good! I think it’s the marinade he used…

Beef Kabob Marinade.
1/3 Cup Canola Oil
1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
2 Tbls Red Wine Vinegar
2 Tsps Garlic Powder
Marinade for at least an hour.
Yummmmmmmmy!! I love apple pie! We had shish kabobs on opening day for our grill, too! : )
