New Curtains

My mom and dad's Christmas gift to me this year was new curtains for the library. I've hated the shades we have in there for a long time now because they constantly break, and of course my mom knew that and decided to help me fix that issue by buying pretty curtains. She had picked out some really nice navy blue patterned curtains and when I opened them I realized at once they were almost identical to the comforter on our bed. I mean, they were almost EXACTLY the same, it was weird! But, I obviously liked the pattern (since I already had it on my bed!) and we took them out to hang only to realize they weren't long enough. So, while they were up here at the end of December, mom and I made a run out to JCPenney's and found some that would be long enough, just not in the pattern she'd originally chosen. We had to order them as they didn't have the 108 in. length we needed and about a week later they were here.

January proved to be a very busy month and it took about another two weeks to find the time to get them hung, but they're up now and I really love them! You'll notice that I haven't taken down those dreaded shades yet but I will take when I buy some sheers to go in the center of the curtains.

Oddly, the same day we hung the curtains, a big box came in the mail. It was a surprise from my mom, two giant pillows to go with the new curtains! There's nothing like getting something unexpected in the mail! (Thank you, Mom!)
