Mini Skate Party

Dakota won a mini skate party for turning in Box Tops at school so this past weekend we finally used her voucher. The voucher was for herself and three friends entry into the skating rink, skate rental a pizza and drinks. I told her she could invite two friends because the first friend would be her brother. She invited two girls from her class and while one of them responded almost immediately the other never responded at all. It all worked out just fine though and they had a great time!

Harper complained when I told him we were going to go skating for a couple hours but once we got there (as usual) his attitude changed. He skated and skated and skated! He is getting really good an this time he was attempting to skate a little faster. He found that he loved to stop himself by just running his skates into the wall, and of course, he asked me to film him doing so.

Tony skated with the kids but after falling (HARD) twice he ended up with a bruised hip and swollen ankle. I'm sure it won't stop him from skating again but it may slow his down next time...

This is Dakota's friend Marley from kindergarten. Are these two cute, or what? Marley hasn't been skating as much as we have and was still learning but she was a rock star! She fell and got back up over and over and over again. There were many times both girls would fall and just lie on the floor laughing hysterically about it! It was too funny!

None of the kids were ready to leave at 3 pm when we all had to go, even Harper who initially complained. I hope we'll be able to do this a few more times over the summer.
