Pool Opening Day

The kids were super excited about the pool opening up this past Saturday. It didn't really matter what the weather was going to be, they were getting in. Luckily, for them and me, the weather cooperated and the water wasn't too terrible. It was sunny and close to 90 degrees which made the water feel decent. I never got all the way in but the kids had to be dragged out after 3 1/2 hours because I heard thunder.

Harper took and passed the mandatory swim test so that he can swim unassisted in the deep end of the pool. Dakota really wants to try the swim test as well but she's really not quite ready. I'm hoping with some practice she'll be able to do it before summer ends.

We had planned on making 'smores after dinner but the kids weren't interested so Tony and I went out and made ourselves some once the little kids were in bed! I kept catching my marshmallows on fire and dropping them so Tony offered to make me the perfect marshmallow; he really did make it perfectly!

I know it isn't technically summer yet but it sure is beginning to feel like it!
