Boy Scout Turkey Shoot

The week before Thanksgiving the boy scouts held their annual turkey shoot. Each troop supplies some type of snack or drink, there are some Thanksgiving related activity sheets for the kids to work on, then they announced some awards for badges or belt loops the boys had earned and then they get a chance to shoot cardboard turkey's with Nerf guns. It's quite an event.

Since Dakota and I didn't have anything going on that evening we decided to tag along.

During the awards ceremony Harper was called up to get one for being the third highest popcorn seller this season! We were pretty surprised!

And finally, the kids got a chance to shoot some turkeys! There were six different stations for them to try and they had little cards with them to mark how many "hits" they got.

The lines to shoot at each station were very long and the kids got kind of bored waiting for their turn but other than that it was a really fun night that both kids enjoyed. Maybe they'll work it out a little better for next year.
