Papa the Prankster

My parents came up for a visit this past weekend. The main reason they drove up was so that we could all go tour the White House’s Christmas decorations…but, we did a few other things in the short time they were here, like drive out to Ikea (mom, Harper and I), go see the movie Tron (Dad,Tony,Landon) and play the board game Apples to Apples. (Zoe was hanging out with her Oma and Opa all day Sunday while we were doing all of the above).

When my parents were here last time, we all headed to the mall, but since there were so many of us we had to take two vehicles, and the kids rode with Meme and Papa in their truck. Landon decided he wanted to bring his wallet in case he saw something he just had to buy, and ended up leaving his wallet in the back of my parents truck, which they then drove back down to South Carolina.

So, to make a long story short, my parents returned Landon’s wallet when they visited this time. But, of course, they had to mess with him a little. As soon as they got here and unloaded the truck, my dad immediately went upstairs to wrap Landon’s wallet with gift wrap…and he taped it so that there was no easy way to get into it. Then, he handed it to Landon who thought he was getting an early Christmas present.

Here, my dad is telling Landon to shake it so that he can make three guesses as to what’s inside the package.

Landon obliges with a very firm shaking…

But had absolutely no idea what it could possibly be, so he started ripping!

It took him a good 5 minutes to get it open, and then he thought it was pretty funny that Papa had wrapped his wallet! I think Landon was just glad to see that Meme and Papa hadn’t borrowed his money, like they kept telling him they were!
