Maryland Seafood Festival

The seafood festival was this past weekend and I think it might have been the best weather we've ever had. It was such a gorgeous day and we ended up spending nearly the entire day out there. We got there around 10:30 or so and didn't get home until about 5 pm. Landon chose not to go with us this year which was a bummer, but since he'd had an all day cross country meet the day before we didn't force him to go. Our buddies the Wakefield's met us there after Evie woke up from her nap and as usual, the kids were super happy to see their friends. While we waited for them to show up we hung out by the water. The water was freezing (it wasn't even that warm out of the water) but the kids loved chasing the birds and playing in the sand.

The heard an announcement that the Xpogo Demo was about to start so we walked over to watch them.

The kids wanted to ride on the kiddie stuff they had available and while Tony and I were looking to see how much everything cost, they both just jumped on a ride. I don't know exactly what happened but one minute we were talking to them about what they wanted to ride and the next an attendant was buckling Harper in. He didn't have any tickets so we aren't sure how that worked but as soon as Dakota noticed she joined him and nothing was ever said. We ended up buying tickets later but I think their favorite ride was the one they got to do for free!

It wasn't much longer before our friends showed up and we headed over for some lunch. I grabbed a Crabby Pretzel (a giant pretzel topped with DELICIOUS homemade crab dip and Old Bay) while Tony got a Crabby Hog Sandwich (crab cake with pulled pork and slaw) which sounded gross to me but one bite was all it took to change my mind! The kids had chicken tenders (Harper) and a corn dog (Dakota); they aren't too adventurous.

Lisa and Jeff supplied the kids with some flavored honey sticks and they loved them! This picture makes me laugh because the kids look like baby birds waiting for their food...

It was a 5 for $1 deal so Ms. Lisa grabbed herself one too! :)

After walking around and checking out the merchandise we headed back down to the water. The kids couldn't wait to get back down there to play and Dakota was happy to help push the stroller.

There were lots of vendors out that day and nearly every booth had some sort of game you could play to win a prize. The kids picked up some sunglasses, bead necklaces, a fidget spinner, a $5 grocery gift card as well as other little things. Their favorite prize of the day though was hand sanitizer. I have no idea what all the fuss was about but not one of them was leaving without their own bottle.

It was a great day but we were absolutely exhausted when we got home. I hope we get the chance to go again next year and I hope the weather is as nice!
