Courageous and Strong, Daisy Scout Meeting

We were supposed to have our bi weekly Daisy scout meeting last week but because of bad weather, it was cancelled. So, Friday night the girls got together for a make up meeting.

The meeting was all about being courageous and strong and there were lots of activities for them to do to demonstrate those behaviors.

Their first activity was to turn themselves into superheroes. They each got a cape, a matching felt mask, wrist cuffs (think Wonder Woman) and a shield. They were given a few stickers to decorate their mask and cuffs as well and then we broke into three groups where they did different activities.

The first activity was to listen to a short story and then decide if the character in the story had behaved bravely or not. If they thought the character had been brave, they went to a sign that said "brave" on it and if not, they ran to a sign that said "not brave". It was cool to listen to them give their reasons why they chose the way they did.

The next activity was a Mystery Bag Challenge. In a numbered brown paper sack there was a mystery item and the girls took turns putting their hands in the bags to guess what was in there. After sticking their hand in they chose a square of paper with an image on it like "worms (cooked spaghetti), toad skin (pickles) etc." and then matched it to a numbered print out.

The final activity of the evening was karaoke. Dakota sang the song "Look What You Made Me Do" by Taylor Swift. She was REALLY nervous, but she got up there on her turn and did her best!

(The girls in the background are super loud and you can't hear Kota sing but here's proof that she did it!)
