So long, February

How we've already gotten to the last day of February seems unreal. I mean, it feels like we JUST had Christmas yet Easter is right around the corner. I always feel like the first couple months of school blow by because of all the holiday's but January and February have proven to be just as full. When I took a look at my March calendar I realized that it too was going to be jam packed; such is life when kids are involved.

Some of the things I know we've got coming up including Landon testing for his drivers license, a birthday party, a trip to Badlands, lots of scout activities, dance, coder club, dinner with our friends, a trip to the Maryland Zoo with the 2nd graders, a trip to Turkey Hill Experience and one to Hyper Kidz. I also have parent teacher conferences scheduled for the two little kids as well as an IEP meeting for Dakota.

So, I'll do my best to blog about it all, but it'll likely be in spurts just like I did this month. :)

Anyways, I'll close out this month with a cute picture of Dakota and her friend Sydney posing in the their homemade sweat bands. How Dakota came up with the idea to make these I don't know but she cut strips of green paper and stapled them together for both her and Sydney to create these headbands today. The conversation about them went something like this:

Dakota: Do you go running with your mom?
Sydney: Well no, but I did ride my bike next to her when she ran one time.
Dakota: Well, you're going to need to go running with her so you can wear this.
Sydney: Well, I can't go today because she already ran and I just wanna play with you.
Dakota: Ok, but next time you go running, you have to wear the headband we're about to make.
Sydney: Ok....

And, here is what they came up with:

The two little kids made me laugh yesterday morning.  I was upstairs getting things ready for school when I heard them talking about how ...
