There was a Brownie troop at our meeting this week and our Daisy's just loved having them there! The older girls loved helping out and were very helpful with keeping things moving along and assisting the younger ones when they needed it. The girls got to do a treasure hunt, shamrock painting with marshmallows, green pepper slices and an apple that had been sliced in half. They also played a game like Simon Says where they were given a brief scenario and if it was a kind/right thing to do, they would do it but if it wasn't kind, they'd stay silent. So, for example, the leader would read "a new kid starts school and you don't know them so you ignore them" and hopefully all the girls stay quiet. Then the leader would read "a new kid starts school and you don't know them so you introduce yourself and show them around" and the girls would all agree that would be the kind thing to do.
I was at a table where we worked on making chore charts. The girls were given foam door knob hangers as well as foam stickers to decorate it. At the top of the door hanger "to do" was written and well as "done". They were given 5 clothespins with chores written on them: wash hands and face, get dressed, brush teeth, brush hair, eat healthy snack. So, at the beginning of the day, the clothespins are clipped on one side of the hanger and when they complete the chore they move that clip to the opposite side under the "done" label. Dakota really likes her little chore chart and has used it all week! I keep thinking I should make one for Harper...and maybe even Landon! Haha!
The only other activity I got a picture of was the girls making rainbows with Froot Loop's.
The best part of the night though came before we ever left for her meeting. Tony was giving Dakota an early bath while I was cleaning up the dinner dishes and Harper went upstairs and wrote her a little note. He grabbed Dakota's favorite teddy bear and a few other little things around her room and set them all up for her to find when she came out of the bathroom. He came downstairs and told me what he did and I asked him to go up with my phone and take a few pictures for me before Dakota moved anything. (I couldn't do it because I was still washing dishes.)
"I Love you Dakota, have fun at girl scouts" is what the note said. I know they miss each other when they're apart but this was just too sweet! They have no idea how lucky they are to have one another.
