Line-Up, Game Review

Yesterday Tony and Harper played the game Line-Up. Here's the description of the game from Amazon's website:

This comical crime game is perfect for showing off your memory skills. Travel the game board and stop at each of six crime scenes to take a five-second eyewitness look at the suspect. Study the picture, because when you head back to the police station for a lineup, you'll face a challenging string of look-alike suspects. Kids who can analyze, differentiate and remember the smallest details will come out ahead. But there's a glitch in the system, and a Lucky Break could trip up even the most solid ID! Like all other MindWare products, LineUp is dedicated to toys that teach, combining fun and education for unique and innovative games. Game includes 16 Bakery Suspect cards, 16 Bank Suspect cards, 16 Car Lot Suspect cards, 16 Pet Shop Suspect cards, 16 Warehouse Suspect cards, 16 Warf Suspect cards, 10 card stands with stickers (1 Guilty, 9 Innocent), 26 Lucky Break cards, 1 game board, 6 pawns, 6 LineUp Count chips, 1 die, 1 Security shield. For 2 – 6 players ages 8 and up. Game time 20-60 minutes.

For some reason Harper didn't really want to play but Tony got everything set up and then enticed Harper with the promise of jelly beans for every suspect he identified correctly. (Good old fashioned bribery got him to the table!)

So, here's the brief review Harper gave me:

  • With one being the lowest and ten the highest, he gave it a five.
  • The part he liked about the game was trying to figure out the correct suspect
  • He felt that the game was a little hard and it was difficult to figure out which one was the correct suspect
  • Would you recommend this game to friends? No.
He wasn't in the mood to talk about it anymore than that and I think he may have given the game a bit better review if he'd been in the mood to play. We'll try again another day.
