Turkey Hill Experience

We were up and out of the house bright and early yesterday morning. Awhile back my friend Lisa told me about a special offer on the Turkey Hill Experience tickets so we both bought some and drove an hour and a half yesterday morning to get there at opening. We got there a couple minutes before Lisa did so we took that opportunity to get photo's with the giant cow out front.

There are many interactive elements to the "experience" and the kids really loved playing around on all there was to offer. When you first go upstairs there are lots of educational wall panels about the processes involved in ice cream production/manufacturing as well as other fun facts, but we didn't get to read any of it because the kids ran straight for the trucks that they were allowed to climb in.

They also found one of those penny squishing machines and HAD to do that as well!

They both loved milking the cows and Tony loved squirting us with the "milk"!

We spent way too much time at this free tea tasting bar. My favorite was the Raspberry Tea.

After what must have been 500 cups of tea, the kids moved on to the Bacteria Blaster video game.

They also have these machines that stamp smells onto a sheet of paper. The idea is to mix and match the scents to make new smells. The kids loved it!

Once we'd experimented with different smells we moved on to creating our own ice cream flavors, packaging and commercials. (I was the only one to do the commercial, they were fraidy cats!)

Tony made Caramelo Caramelly Bloody Brilliant flavored ice cream.

Harper named his Mango Madness Grasshopper Chocolatey.

Dakota's was called I Love Ice Cream Dakota. :)

And mine was the best, Coco Caramelistic Chocolate. Yum.

Here's my commercial...hahaha!

There were a few other interactive exhibits around but I think everyone's favorite thing was the unlimited ice cream samples! The kids had lots of samples (think child's size scoop at Dunkin Donuts sample, not a bit on the end of a spoon sample) and we adults had our fill as well. They had a cart out with some of their new Trio'politan ice creams and the Mint Cookie flavor is DELICIOUS!

It was a fun way to spend a few hours and I'm glad we went even though the ride there and back was tough with Dakota whining about how long it was taking.

April Fools Pranks

The two little kids made me laugh yesterday morning.  I was upstairs getting things ready for school when I heard them talking about how ...
