She looked up at me and said "today?" and when I said "sure, why not?" she surprised me by saying that she did want to. I thought I'd let her think about it a little so we went and made the exchange at Penney's and then I asked her again and again she said she wanted to. There was a teenage girl who walked in right before us and was also there to get her ears pierced and I wondered if it was a good idea to let Dakota watch her or not. It was the girls second piercing so I figured she knew what she was getting herself into and wouldn't act like a fool while getting her ears done. Luckily for me the girl acted like it was no big deal at all and Dakota thought it had looked okay and said she still wanted to do it.
Harper didn't want to come in the store and I'm pretty sure it's because he was scared for Dakota. He hadn't seen the other girl get her ears pierced because he'd been out in the mall with Tony and when they came back he just stood on the other side of the glass watching.
I let her choose the studs they'd use to pierce her ear and because she's still so young two women did her ears at once instead of doing one at a time. She chose a rainbow flower stud and I thought it was perfect for a little 5 year old. Just her style.
She was sooo excited about having her ears pierced and couldn't wait to show everyone at dinner tonight. We had family dinner at Mema's this evening so there were lots of people to show!
This little girl is growing up so fast! I can't believe how brave she's become over this past year!
