Nearly every morning we were there we had to get out of the water for a little bit because of shark sightings, but it never kept us out for long! It amazed us that the kids weren't ever afraid to go back in after being told to get out...
Evelyn hated the water and the sand so she spent much of her time perched on a blanket in the shade. We worked on her a little every day and by the end of the week she even stood on the sand for 10 seconds at a time while collecting shells. Maybe next time she'll enjoy it more. The older kids were sweet though and every once in awhile they'd go sit and play with her.
Tony did some more sand sculpting and turned Dakota into a mermaid:
And a shark that took a bite out of Harper:
Tony remembered to bring the skim board out so we played with that too.
When the Wakefield's went up for nap time we hung out and had lunch at the pool. The kids loved going around and around in the lazy river while we sat and watched them. And, believe it or not, I got a genuine laugh/smile out of my husband and was quick enough with my phone to get a picture! Those big, beautiful smiles are hard to come by and even harder to catch on camera!
