Milk Magic

As I was scrolling through my boards on Pinterest the other day I came across an activity to try with Harper.

The only ingredients necessary were milk, food coloring, dish soap and toothpicks. Easy right?

First you pour some milk into a shallow container (we used a lid to a bowl). Next, you add a few drops of food coloring to the milk. Then you take your toothpick and dip it in the dish soap and start running it through the food coloring…and then you see the magic!

The dish soap breaks the surface tension of the milk and forces the food coloring to move around the dish…it’s pretty neat. We could have used the colors to paint, but Harper had had enough of painting and sitting by the time we were done, so we just tossed it, but I see us doing this one again sometime soon!
