When we got home Sunday afternoon, Dakota was napping and Harper was having his usual quiet time on the couch playing a game. When we came in he said “You were gone a long day, Mama!” and gave me a kiss and hug before he went back to playing his game. Zoe told me that Dakota and Harper hadn’t seemed to miss us at all, and though I was glad they’d done well, it hurt a little knowing they didn’t really need me after all.
But, once my baby woke up from nap, I got a big hug and kiss and things just fell into place like always. We ended up getting everyone dressed in their bathing suits for a trip to the pool.
