So, I thought I'd list a few of those ideas here and maybe check in once a month to see how (or if) things are progressing.
- go through all toys in the basement. This is no small task, let me assure you. I want to get rid of what the kids don't play with or need or like, save some of the things I have for future grandchildren, and better organize what's left.
- paint Landon's bedroom; it needs the works. New color (I'm thinking soft gray) fresh trim (white) and even his ceiling needs paint. He also needs new curtains to complete the mini makeover.
- redecorate Harper's room. He's outgrown the adorable dinosaur bedroom and it's time to upgrade him to an older boy's look. My mom gave me a light blue comforter that fits Harper's bed so I think I'll use it as my jumping point. I'm hoping I can sell his comforter set and all the canvas' I made in order to get a few new pieces of art for his room.
- once the toys in the basement are taken care of I'd like to repaint. There are a bunch of repairs that need to be made on the walls down there and repainting afterwards will make it a nice new space.
- it's time to repaint the bathroom on the main floor. Again. Time to replace the rug and towels in that bathroom as well.
- fix the garden in the front yard. Tony has already started this process but it's going to be a lot of work to get it the way I envision...
- repaint the dining room. Mostly just the white part beneath the chair rail as its pretty dirty and scuffed. The top part is a gray that I'm still happy with. Maybe some new art in that room would be nice too...
As you can see, we need to do a lot of painting. Living in a big house with a lot of people means things get dirty and run down and need to be fixed up every few years. I guess that's probably how it goes in most homes and I'm hoping this year we'll be able to get a lot, if not all, of this done. Wish me luck!
