*Dakota asked me if the Easter bunny was real a few days ago. I was surprised because she is still a huge Santa believer. I asked her why she thought the bunny wasn't real and she said "I just can't believe a big bunny hops around with a basket of eggs to give kids". What the hell was I supposed to say to that? How can you argue with a child who is using absolute logic? I never did get around to 100% confirming that the bunny is a big fraud but I feel like I need to sit her and Harper down and give them the news. I can't see flat out lying about it anymore, it just doesn't feel right. I think Tony and I both kind of hate the Santa/Bunny/Toothfairy bit because it's such absolute bull, but always felt a little obligated to tell the lies for the sake of all the other kids who are told to believe; we didn't want to be the family that ruined it for everyone else.
I'd heard really good things about BonChon, a new restaurant in our area, so we tried that for dinner. I'd specifically heard how good the wings were so we knew we were going to get those. They offer two sauces, spicy or soy garlic. I let Tony choose and he went with the spicy. The wings are really big, so this should be ordered as a meal, not a side like I thought. They were pretty good and the sauce is SPICY, but tasty. I only ate one and it was more than enough spice for me!
I can't remember where, either Instagram or Facebook, but I keep seeing ads for Bibimbap and when I saw it on the menu I figured I'd give it a try. (I forgot to get a picture of it until after I'd already had a bite! It was really pretty when it came out!) I chose the spicy chicken bowl and that chicken was certainly spicy. Nose running, chapped lips spicy. It was okay but next time I'll go without all the spiciness to see if I can actually taste food. The dish they bring it out in is extremely hot and when I scraped the bottom of the bowl to mix everything around I could hear it sizzling and crackling. The rice is underneath everything and the very bottom of the rice is deliciously crunchy.
Tony ordered the Bull Dak. His was REALLY SPICY and he had to blow his nose several times while eating. His lips were also chapped and dry and he had stomach issues the next two days after eating it! That said, he said it was good and ended up bringing what he didn't finish home along with what was left of the wings. I told him it probably wasn't a good idea to eat it again but he isn't listening and plans to take it for lunch one day this week.
I think we'll go back but I'll definitely order differently. I may still go with the Bibimbap but maybe choose the Bulgogi instead of spicy chicken. And, I'd like to try the soy garlic chicken instead of the burn your face off spicy flavor.
