A Day Spent with Landon

It seems that the only time I have for blogging these days are on the weekends. I guess it's when I feel like I need to get caught up and make time for it. I never did write about what Landon and I did last weekend while everyone was gone camping, so I'll start there.

Landon was invited to prom this year by a senior friend of his. I thought it was so cool that she invited him and that he wants to go! They're going as friends, not boyfriend and girlfriend, which is also really cool. Anyways, Landon needed a suit or tux for the event so he and I set out to get that done while everyone else was busy.

He got up early (for him that meant 11 am) with a promise of lunch. So, we headed towards the mall where he grabbed some Chipotle and I a sub from Jersey Mike's. Right next door to Jersey Mike's is the Haircuttery so he ran in there for a haircut before we drove over to Men's Wearhouse

We were barely in the door at Men's Wearhouse when one of the salespeople came over to help us out. I told her I wasn't sure if we were going to be buying or renting but that buying seemed more reasonable since he'd be able to wear the suit at least 4 times in the next year or so. (Prom this year, 2 formal nights on the cruise and prom next year.) She immediately began having him try on jackets to see what size/style he liked and once that was narrowed down we moved on to whether or not he wanted to wear a vest. Initially he didn't want a vest but once he had one on with the jacket, he quickly changed his mind! Once the top was decided he moved over to the dressing room to try on pants and then decided on a shirt, bow tie and pocket square.

We were there for quite awhile and I'm so glad we were able to get all that done without worrying about bored kids running around the store. I ended up spending a bit more than I had wanted and I'm really hoping it was the right decision. He's just going to have to keep the growing to a minimum.

After we finished suit shopping we went home for a bit and then met up with Mema at Olive Garden for dinner (Landon's choice). It was a really nice day spent with my boy, albeit expensive. I'd really like to spend more time with him but I know it's hard when he's got friends/work/school and our schedules just don't really mesh. I cherish the time I do get with him though and hope he enjoys spending some time with me as well.
