Saturday Shenanigans

The kids didn't wake up until close to 9 am Saturday morning and Tony made everyone eggs, bagels and sausage before we headed out to the beach. It was about 10 am when we got out there and the waves were still quite rough but there was only one red flag instead of two so in we went!

Around noon we went back to the room for lunch and a break.

When we were feeling rested we headed back out to the pool deck and this time we tried the Frozen Lemonade bucket...it was DELICIOUS!

The kids had been asking to get an Italian ice too and this seemed the perfect opportunity for that as well. Dakota chose blue raspberry and Harper got sour apple, no surprises there :).

We spent a couple of hours going from pool to hot tub to lazy river before we all went upstairs to shower and get ready for dinner. We thought we should try out a restaurant over on Broadway at the Beach so we had to hurry up and get over there before it got too late and the lines got too long.

While waiting for everyone to meet up at a specific spot the kids got to feed the masses of fish and ducks under the pier. They loved it but it is just too gross in my opinion!

We ended up at American Tap House because we've got some avid beer drinkers in our group and also, there was no wait. Despite a lack of great reviews we thought it was good. The good was okay (my sister and I both ordered the chicken schnitzel and thought it was bland but edible) and I think everyone enjoyed their beer as I didn't see any left on the table.

The kids menu's had a big word find on them and my sister saw me working on Harper's and decided to challenge me and see who'd win. She grabbed one of the other kids menu's and  Jaron jumped in to help her while the rest of the table ended up jumping in to help me and although it was a close match, my team won! Haha, Tisha! :)

We walked around a little bit trying to find something to do that didn't cost a fortune and ended up in a store called It's Sugar. There was candy galore in there and the kids had a really fun time picking out some for their dessert. The only complaint I have about that store is there are a lot of candies with inappropriate names (Dick in a Box, Unicorn Balls, Camel Balls) or suggestive stuff  (edible g-strings, edible bras etc) that maybe shouldn't be mixed in with the gummy bears. Luckily my kids didn't seem to notice and I didn't have to answer any awkward questions in the middle of the store.

Lisa, Jeff and their three kids headed home a little earlier than we did but when we got back it was still light out so we decided to take a walk along the beach.

I was attempting to get a shot of the kids together but just as I went to snap my photo a wave came up a little high on the back of everyone's legs...it made for some funny faces!

And, as you'll see, Tony was at it again with his silliness! We were laughing and talking about all the way people pose for pictures and I guess these poses stood out to him! :)

After getting the kids to bed that night we all sat at the table playing Hearts. Well, my sister, Jaron, Tony and Landon tried to teach me how to play but I just couldn't follow all the rules! I ended up getting kicked out and being told to just keep score, haha!

April Fools Pranks

The two little kids made me laugh yesterday morning.  I was upstairs getting things ready for school when I heard them talking about how ...
