We went downstairs to the hotels restaurant for breakfast on Friday morning because we didn't feel like driving out to the grocery store after we'd just spent 8 hours driving down to the beach. The hotel put up a decent breakfast buffet and I can't remember the last time Dakota ate as much as she did that morning! Girl was hungry!
Tony made himself a Belgian waffle and at first glance I thought he'd really messed it up but then realized it was the shape of South Carolina!
As soon as we were done eating we went back up to our room to change and then we went to the beach.
When we'd had enough of the ocean we walked back over to the pool where Tony and I decided to try the drink they were promoting that afternoon called the Lifesaver. It was pretty good!
Around 4:30 pm our friends made it to the hotel so we went down to help them unload and then decided we'd all head back down to the pool for swimming and dinner.
Dakota was watching Evelyn jump to her mom in the pool and asked if she could have a try catching her. It was a little scary at first but Dakota did great and Evelyn didn't hesitate for even a second!
Late in the afternoon the lifeguards put up two red flags because the water was really rough so we didn't get to go back out into the water that night but we did let the kids play in the sand for a little bit.
Tony was in a silly mood and took off running into the ocean. You can see a lady on the left of the video and she just didn't know what to think of his antics! I'm sure she thought he'd lost his mind!
We all headed back up to our rooms after spending a little time out by the water and around 9 pm my sister and nephew showed up. My sister had a class all day on Friday but as soon as it was over she and Jaron headed our way. They were only staying for two nights but since it was just over a 2 hour drive it wasn't too bad.
We stayed up chatting for a little bit that night and then we all hit the hay because we knew Saturday was going to be busy!
