On Saturday afternoon, we all went over to Chris and Lori’s for a cookout and swimming. The weather was just beautiful after all the rain we’d been having, but it was a little cool for the pool, mid 70’s. But, it didn’t matter and the kids all enjoyed that cold water anyways!
The view from their pool is just beautiful! Those blue skies and green trees and grass just can’t be beat!
Dakota got tired of the pool and wanted to walk down the hill to see the horses. The horses weren’t in the field closest to us though so we didn’t really get to see them this time.
We ran around outside and the kids took turns “sleeping” on the hammock. That’s Lea having her turn.
Chris was in the mood to play with fire so he started a fire in the fire pit. Of course the fire was a big hit with the kids who couldn’t resist throwing things into it! We made smores and my kids wouldn’t even try them! They only wanted to eat the chocolate. They just don’t know what they’re missing. (Don’t be fooled by the pics of them with marshmallows, they really didn’t eat them, they threw them in the fire.)
After having their “smores” we took them down to look at the ginormous tree at the bottom of the hill. It used to be two trees but a storm took one down so there’s a huge hole where the one once was. It’s still an impressive looking tree, and so beautiful.
