Marbled Easter Eggs

We finally got around to dyeing our Easter eggs yesterday afternoon. It's tricky when we're all going a million different directions all the time but we all came together yesterday afternoon after lunch and before Landon headed to work. I didn't boil as many eggs as I have in the past, only 20 this year. I figured 5 per kid was plenty and really, Landon only ended up doing 2 or 3 before growing bored. Dakota could have done 5 or 6 dozen by herself because she just dumped one egg in each color and waited for them to reach a satisfactory color, so there wasn't really a perfect number when it came to her. Harper, on the other hand, was perfectly content with his 5. He took his time and enjoyed the process (although he looks rather bored in the photo's I took; I promise he enjoyed this activity!).

I bought 3 egg dye kits on clearance at Michaels last year so we had a few kids to choose from. I only opened one box yesterday so we're good to go at least another year! We tried the Marbled Egg Dye Kit by Paas. It seemed to only work with the lightest colors in the box and only if you dipped it quickly and repeatedly in and out of the dye. No one in my family really has patience for that but Landon and I were able to get one each with a nice marbled effect.

Before we dyed the eggs though, Landon had to see if he could juggle them without breaking any:

He did hit them together a couple times but they weren't terribly cracked. We just switched the lightly cracked egg with Tony's... :)
