Simple Simon Met a Pie Man

And his name was Tony! Tony took off work a little early today just so he could come home and make the pies for tomorrow. He made one apple, one pumpkin and one pecan! They all look delicious...see!

Pecan Pie Apple Pie IMG_1591 IMG_1594

The last picture is just a filler since there are only 3 pies. It is one of the many Christmas decorations I put out today with the kids. It sure is a lot of work cleaning/putting away fall stuff/putting up Christmas decorations! Now all we have to do is the outside lights and the tree!

Snowman Cookies

IMG_1588 I found this adorable cookie jar at Bath and Body Works the other day. Of course, the only thing missing were the cookies, so Zoe and I made some Chocolate Chip cookies today! She, like Landon, loves to help bake. She's really old enough to do some baking by herself, but I always end up helping just because it's something we both can do together. Here are some pics of us in action:

Tony and Ginger have really seemed to bond as of late. It took them a while, IMG_1584but anytime he's sitting anywhere she wants to be on his lap...unless I'm around that is!  He was sitting on the floor looking for some Thanksgiving pie recipes and Ginger saw him there and plopped right down. It must be love!

This final picture is of a letter that Zoe got in the mail today. She has serious issues opening things. Bags, boxes, envelopes, you name it, she can't open it!  Not without it being torn or opened in some odd way. She has been that way for as long as I can remember and even she knows she has "opening things" issues! IMG_1585I know that the way she opened this wasn't a big deal, but really, who do you know that doesn't know how to open an envelope? Well, now you know at least one honor roll student who doesn't! I can't imagine how she'll ever live on her own!

Whoo? Whoo? Whoo? Are These Kids?

I think this will be my last Halloween layout for awhile, I am getting a little burnt out. It is time to start working on something else! This is obviously a 2 pager, but it just didn't look right when I tried to post it that way on here...

Weekend Update

IMG_1544 Last Thursday I was late getting to the bus stop to pick up Landon. Actually, the bus was early, but Landon doesn't see it that way, I mean, how could his bus get here early? As far as he's concerned his bus couldn't get here early enough! Even though I wasn't close, I could tell the minute I saw him that something was wrong. I ran up to see what was the matter and there was blood all over his lips and some on his cheek, hand and his water bottle. At first I thought he'd been hurt, but he quickly pointed out that he had lost his front tooth on the bus ride home! He was really worried about all the blood, and he was starting to get sick because of the taste in his mouth. I had to rush him home and clean him up before he really did get sick! He talked funny for the rest of the day; he just couldn't get used to not having a tooth there! He is back to talking normally now, and the adult tooth is already showing!

Friday was really cold here, we even had a few more flurries, but nothing productive. Luckily Landon's last soccer practice was canceled so we just hung out at home which was nice. IMG_1548I got Kung Fu Panda from Netflix and the kids and I really enjoyed it. I didn't think it was going to be very good, but I was pleasantly surprised. Saturday morning was Landon's final soccer game and it was extremely cold. I think the temps were in the low 30's and it was very windy. After his game Zoe had her soccer party. The coach rented out an indoor soccer field for the girls to have a scrimmage. Since Zoe went to the doctor about her hip she didn't get to participate, but she went and watched any ways.

IMG_1567 This morning I went and got my hair cut + colored. Then I decided it was time for Tony and Landon to also get their hair cut! Zoe's hair is looking pretty good, so the only one left is the dog and she really needs to go! The kids are out for the week for Thanksgiving and they are already acting like they don't know what to do with themselves. We played a couple games tonight, Rumis and SkipBo. Zoe didn't want to play in the beginning but after we started playing her whole attitude changed and she was happy to play along. I kicked all their butts in Rumis and Tony beat us all at SkipBo. It was nice that we all spent time together since it seems that we get to less and less often these days. Hopefully the kids enjoyed it too.

Dream in Color!

I have had this photo of Landon sitting on my desk for awhile now. I don't know why it took so long to scrap it, IMG_1542 but I finally got it done! Back in September when my family came up for our little crab feast, Landon finished eating and was wandering around and a few minutes later came in wearing Papa's helmet. We thought he looked pretty funny, and so did he! I had to grab a picture before he got too embarrassed about it. I love this paper! It started out just black and white and I got to do the coloring! Sometimes it is just so relaxing to sit and color! I did a little tag behind the photo with journaling about the photo, and colored. Wa-La!

My Little Ratatouille

IMG_1526

Photos of Landon helping me bake cookies. I received the Ratatouille character in an auction; the lady who created him did so with her Wishblade...pretty cool, huh?

Today turned out to be quite a busy day around here. We had our first snow flurries this afternoon, and my kids were beside themselves, they were so excited! I made Zoe a doctors appointment because she has been complaining that her hip hurt for awhile now. She started saying it hurt about a month ago, but I thought it was probably just a bruise or something from soccer. So, we went and the doctor told her no PE or sports activities for 2 weeks to see if the pain goes away. If not, we'll see an Orthopedic. This year so far she has had a fractured wrist, sprained ankle and now this hip thing. She's falling apart at 13! Poor kid!

Then, because I was thinking about it I called the dentist office to ask if I should be worried about Landon's discolored, loose tooth. They recommended that I come in and have it looked at, so almost right after he got off the school bus I took him up the dentist's office. When I told him we were going to see the dentist about his tooth, he cried and cried because he was so worried we were going to walk in there and the doctor was going to just yank it out or something. After the dentist examined the tooth and was sure there wasn't any infection, he said to leave it alone and it would come out on it's own; he went on to say that there are enough people in the world already that are deathly afraid of dentists and he didn't want to create another! He said he could see the adult tooth right beneath the baby tooth, and it was discolored because it was no longer alive basically. So, I got two doctor appts. out of the way in one day!

smile

This page is about the night Zoe fell and broke her front (adult) tooth. It was Christmas Eve and she was running through someone's yard and tripped on something and broke her tooth completely in half. Ow!

Halloween Parade/December Daily Album

I am getting down to the last couple pages from my weekend crop getaway! Here is the 7th:

IMG_1528

I have been working on making an album that I will use to document the 25 days before Christmas. IMG_1539 The inspiration for this album came from Ali Edwards' December Daily Album. I almost duplicated her cover exactly (because I had the same sticker sheet, and I LOVED the look of hers) but the inside is different. Zoe helped to make a couple of the number tags for the pages too, so that was nice. Now, I just have to remember to take photos every day in December...but, I'm guessing that won't be too hard to do!

the patch

IMG_1524

photos of our visit to the pumpkin patch this year.

IMG_1536 It has been raining here for the past couple of days and Landon's game for this afternoon was canceled, but his end of season party was still on so we went up to Three Brother's for lunch. They ate pizza, handed out trophies and someone's mom made this amazing cake!  IMG_1534

The boys weren't sure if it was a real soccer ball in there or not! The kids actually have one make-up game scheduled for next Saturday, so the season isn't really over yet, but we are getting close.

Monster in the Making

IMG_1519

This is a series of photo's I took while Tony was transforming himself into a wicked scarecrow, so I made the page a sort of progression; from man to Monster! Bwaa haa haa ha!

Thanks Coach

I got my very first custom order a couple weeks ago!!! Just because there isn't any pay involved and the person ordering is my husband doesn't matter! LOL!

Soccer season is (finally) drawing to a close, so we needed a card for the coach and this is what I came up with:

little picasos

IMG_1516

These pic's are from 2002 (I think!) and boy does that feel like a million years ago already! I just can't believe how young both the kids look! It really is amazing how quickly time flies. We've always done a lot of little art related things at home, and in these photos the kids were painting with watercolors. I miss those days.

Ocean City Scrap Weekend

IMG_1491

This weekend 5 friends and I went down to OC to scrap. We left Friday morning, right after getting the kids on the bus for school! We made it down to the beach house around noon or so and after unpacking we went to the grocery store to stock up on junk food for the weekend. Once we got back we all got our stuff out and got to work. We all were so tired that night though, so we ended up going to bed around 12:30! So much for all night scrapping!

IMG_1488 Saturday once we got our lazy butt's out of bed, Mel made us all breakfast and we lounged around eating and chatting for quite awhile. I guess we probably started scrapping again around noon or 1 that day and we decided to go out to dinner around 6pm. We went to a restaurant called BJ's On The Water. Once we got back from dinner we were all ready to get back to work and most of us ended up staying up till 2am. I guess that's a little better than the first night!

IMG_1506 Sunday we got up even later than the day before, so we ate quickly and got to work on our pages since it was the last day. I think that nearly everyone finished 20 or so pages...well, everyone but me! I only finished 9, but I was really happy with getting that done considering how slow I scrap. I decided that I will post one a day for the next 9 days (hopefully I won't forget!) instead of a huge post with all of them. Gives me something to blog about any ways!

Kim dropped me off at home around 5:30pm, and Tony had made one of my favorites for dinner! I couldn't believe he found the time to make it, but it was so delicious! Being away for a few days was so much fun, but coming home is always so nice!

Here's one of the pages I finished:

We spend a lot of time buying and putting up Halloween decorations, so these photo's are of some of our 2008 set up!

Voted!

IMG_1463 Tony and I just got home from voting! I can't wait to see who wins it this year! I sure hope everyone took a few minutes out to cast their ballot, this is such an important election!

This morning when Landon got out of bed he asked what time we got to go vote. I told him that Tony and I were going to vote in the afternoon, after Tony got home from work. Landon then asked what time he got to vote! I told him you had to be 18 to vote and he nearly lost it! He cried a little and ranted about how it is so unfair that kids don't get to vote and could I just cast his vote for him!? I told him I would vote with him in mind and that seemed to make him somewhat happy. At his school they have been learning about the election and about the candidates and I know that they also held their election at school yesterday so, I guess he thought today was his big day!

Retote?

I came across this info. on another site. Check it out!

Christmas Cards Take 2

I bought the 6x6 pad of Wassail paper from Basic Grey so that I could make a few more Christmas cards. I like the patterns and the colors are easily matched with other papers. I made 8 cards like this one:

IMG_1450

And then using some ancient K&Company stickers and scrap papers I had from other projects I made these 2:

Our Little Watch Dog

Ever since the woods were cut down in my neighborhood to begin construction on the new neighborhood we have bunnies everywhere and I'm not the only one who's noticed!

IMG_1355 IMG_1357

Ginger is on alert all day and all night until she goes in her crate for bed. She wants outside every 10 minutes and she paces back and forth for hours on end. When we do let her out she bolts after those bunnies, but I've noticed that if she gets close, she slows down a bit. I don't think she actually wants to catch one, but she sure does love chasing them out of her yard!

April Fools Pranks

The two little kids made me laugh yesterday morning.  I was upstairs getting things ready for school when I heard them talking about how ...
